Our Vision for the Future

How it all started

After moving to Honeoye in 2021 to fulfill her dream of creating a prosperous homestead and grow food for her family and community, Monica quickly realized that she was being called to grow cut flowers. In 2022 she became an Ambassador for the Growing Kindness Project, and discovered the joy of giving flowers to those in need. And while giving flowers is still a joy and a priority, over the past few years, she was drawn to do more than just give flowers– she wanted to create a way to share the peace and lessons her garden has given her with those who need it most. She wanted to create a space where people can gather, learn, celebrate, and reflect. Now, we have a clear vision for the future of the Byrley Family Homestead.

Our Vision: The Pavilion and Statuary Projects

At the heart of Byrley Family Homestead lies a vision of creating more than just a flower farm. Our journey began with a dream to build a space that would serve as a sanctuary for our community—a place where people of all walks of life could come together, learn, and find solace in nature.

The Pavilion

Central to our vision is the creation of a pavilion—a gathering space that will serve as the heart of our homestead. This pavilion will be more than just a structure; it will be a sacred place where people can heal, learn, rejoice, and commune. Here, we envision hosting free workshops, events, and gatherings that foster connection and personal growth. From educational programs for at-risk groups to wellness workshops and community celebrations, the pavilion will be a versatile space that we can use to give back to our community in so many different ways.

The Statuary Garden

In addition to the pavilion, we aspire to create a statuary garden—a tranquil oasis where art and nature intertwine. This garden will feature sculptures and installations that inspire reflection and contemplation, creating a serene environment for visitors to explore and find inspiration.

The Cost of Our Vision

Realizing our vision comes with a significant investment. The construction of the pavilion alone is projected to cost over $30,000, while the development of the statuary garden may cost as much or more. While this may seem daunting, we are committed to making this dream a reality, one step at a time.

You may be curious about our decision not to pursue a non-profit structure for these projects. Initially, we considered establishing a non-profit organization to support the creation these resources. However, after careful consideration, we decided that taking donations for a project that would ultimately be on our private property didn’t align with our values of transparency and integrity. Instead, we’ve chosen to fund the pavilion project through the sale of our cut flowers.

Your Support Matters

By supporting Byrley Family Homestead, you are not only purchasing beautiful flowers, but also contributing to the creation of a space that will enrich the lives of our community members for years to come. Every purchase brings us closer to turning our vision into a reality and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
